CHARLESTON, S.C. [Aug. 08, 2025] – High Side Technology is excited to announce the appointment of Tom Mack as Vice President of Programs and Pacific Sector. With over 37 years of Department of Defense experience, including more than 18 years in engineering and acquisition, Mack brings proven leadership and expertise to his new role.
Mack joined HST in 2017 after a successful career as a Naval Engineering Duty Officer and Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) in the United States Navy. During his active duty career, he served within Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I) Battlespace Awareness & Information Operations (PMW 120), Program Executive Office Space Systems (PEO SS) Communications Satellite Program Office(PMW 146), and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic.
“Tom brings valuable insights, experience, and drive that align with and enhance our leadership portfolio,” said J. Terry Simpson, HST’s Chief Executive Officer. “I’m excited to partner with him in driving growth and delivering exceptional solutions that support our clients’ mission success.”
Mack holds Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Level III certifications in Program Management and Systems Engineering, is SWO qualified, and has a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. His experience and certification bring together a well-rounded mix of acquisition, technical, leadership, and operational expertise.
“I have been fortunate to work with Terry twice. Once at NIWC Atlantic, where I served as a Branch Head and Division Chief Engineer, where Terry was the Division Head. And now, at High Side Technology,” said Mack. “Over the past eight years, we have grown HST from a tiny startup to over 30 employees. My duties include direct and indirect work on multiple projects, which makes every day different and interesting.”
Mack’s promotion follows HST’s recent success in securing a position on the General Services Administration (GSA) One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus (OASIS+) Small Business (SB) Multiple Award Contract (MAC), demonstrating the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions to government and defense clients.
“We have some great growth goals for the next 10 years. It’s my job to help High Side Tech meet and exceed those goals,” said Mack. “This starts by flawlessly executing on existing contracts, building trust with government customers and industry partners, and obtaining and retaining the highest-level of talent.” For more information about HST, visit https://www.highsidetech.com.
